All-Star training provides dancers with a unique dance experience inside the dance studio. Taking the best parts of competitive studio dance and the school dance team model- the main focus of an All-Star Team is competition.
The Johnson County All-Stars compete out of the Johnson County Dance Center in Olathe Kansas and are not affiliated with any particular school or school dance team.
JCAS Dancers will be placed through an audition process and dancers will be placed in routines based off of the following: skills, technique, and age.
All dancers who audition for the team are guaranteed one routine, with the potential to be placed in up to four different routines. Try outs are open to EVERYONE!
AUDITIONS FOR THE 2019-2020 ALL STAR TEAM WILL BE POSTED SOON
JCAS Teams will practice their routine 1.5 hours a week (for each routine) and are required to take an additional 2 hours per week of technique training in Jazz and Leaps & Turns. Tumbling is also strongly recommended for team members.
The Johnson County All-Stars may compete in the following dance styles:
Dancers are placed on teams based on their personal age the date of the contest. Age categories consist of the following:
JCAS Athletes may elect to compete a solo, duo, or trio at the Regional (local) contest. Also they may be eligible to compete in one small group (less than 5 athletes) per the coaches discretion and placement via the audition process. Small groups only compete at the Regional contest.

NOVEMBER 23rd 2019: DTU REGIONAL at Lee's Summit West High School
FEBRUARY 21st - 23rd 2020: DTU NATIONAL at The Royal Caribe Resort in Orlando, Florida.
